Women in Gujarat alleges rape by lover and friends

A 25-year-old woman in the city has accused her lover and his two friends of gang raping her in a deserted house. According to a complaint filed with the Naranpura police, the woman has said that the incident took place before July 2009.

Police sources, meanwhile, said that the woman's story has many loopholes but they are investigating the matter. Vanita Marwadi, (name changed), a resident of Rabari Vasahat in Nava Vadaj was allegedly kidnapped by Nilesh Marathi, Haresh Marwadi and another person.

She has alleged that her neighbour Khemaji Marwadi also had a hand in the kidnap. She has alleged that she was then take to a deserted house in Gota and raped by the trio. It should be noted that after the kidnap the woman's father had filed a complaint and she was found to be living with Nilesh.

Later in a court she expressed her desire to live with Nilesh and was allowed to do so. "Now, she has claimed that while she was living with Nilesh, she was raped by him and some of his friends. She is now seven months pregnant and wants to abort the child," said a source.  "We are investigating the case," said JCP , sector 1, Satish Sharma.
