Woman run over by speeding car in Delhi

A 55-year-old woman was killed and her grandson injured today when a speeding car hit her in the capital, police said.

The incident took place in Gokulpuri area at around 10.30 am when Raj Dulari was walking to a medical store with her grandson.

A speeding car with an Uttar Pradesh registration number hit her and ran her over. Her grandson also sustained injuries in the incident, police said.

They were rushed to Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital where Dulari was declared brought dead. The boy is undergoing treatment.

The car driver fled the spot and the vehicle has been impounded.
