In what seems like a mockery of the police presence on city roads, a 23-year-old woman was robbed off her valuables worth Rs45,000 in the middle of bustling traffic near Prahladnagar garden on Sunday late evening.

According to Satellite police, the woman identified as Arti Thakore, a resident of Harinagar Society in Jivraj Park was on her way home from Shalby Hospital at 8:45 pm. She works as an attendant at the hospital. While Thakore was passing by Prahladnagar garden near Hiraba Party Plot on her two-wheeler, two men on a bike hit her head. Arti lost control and fell on the road. Cops said she lost   consciousness. On waking up after a couple of minutes she realised that she was robbed of cash and gold and silver ornaments worth Rs45,000.

"The only thing she remembers is that two bike-borne men hit her head," cops said. Arti's brother Kalpesh Thakore lodged an FIR with Satellite police station. However, police do not have any clue about the robbers even after 24 hours of the incident.
