Woman kills daughter, poisons 3 before committing suicide in Uttar Pradesh

A 40-year-old woman allegedly committed suicide after poisoning her four children, resulting in death of one of her daughter, in Rupaideeha area of the district, police said.

Shakuntla, depressed after the second marriage of her husband, consumed poison after giving it to her four children in Tulsipur village, the police said.

While Shakuntla and her daughter Umadevi, 10, died at home, three sons Bhure, 7, Manish, 8, and Neeraj, 5, were rushed to a hospital, where their condition was stated to be critical, they said.
