Woman killed over dowry by husband, in-laws in Uttar Pradesh

A 27-year-old woman was allegedly killed by her husband and in-laws over dowry in Sujanganj area, police said today.

Nisha Devi was killed by her husband Mitradeo and in-laws in Mandha village yesterday, they said, adding that the body was seized by the police when the accused were attempting cremation.

On the complaint of Nisha's father Sakhuram an FIR has been lodged against Mitra Deo, his father Mahadeo, mother Manta Devi and sister Renu, they said.

Sakhuram had alleged that Nisha got married with Mitardeo in May 2007 and since then she was being tortured for dowry.
