Woman killed in feud in Bihar

A woman was fatally injured when two families of Karsail village in Bihar's Araria district clashed today over a goat grazing in their fields.

Deputy superintendent of police Badre Alam said here trouble erupted when two women - Shakuntla Devi, wife of a villager named Devanand Mandal, and neighbour Leela Devi engaged themselves in a verbal duel over the grazing.

In the meantime Mandal reached the spot and in a fit of rage began beating Leela Devi with a stick.

In the melee, his younger brother's wife Sheela Devi received a fatal blow on her head and died on way to the hospital.

Mandal later surrendered to the police, Alam said.
