A woman has approached the metropolitan magistrate court for deeper investigation into the mysterious death of her son. She has alleged that her son was killed by the family members of the girl with whom he was allegedly having an affair for the last seven years. The court has asked the police to investigate and file a report on her complaint in a month.

Laxmi Rawal, resident of Dariapura, filed a complaint petition in the metropolitan magistrate’s court on Thursday, seeking investigation against the family members of his son’s lover for their alleged role in the death of her 21-year-old son, Amit.

Amit’s body was found on Monday near the riverfront at Nehru bridge. The police had registered a case of accidental death and proceeded with the investigation. Amit’s mother filed the complaint seeking investigation by higher officials.

Amit was in love with one Nehal Darbar (name changed) with whom he was allegedly in a relationship for the last seven years. Nehal’s family never approved of their relationship. Ever since they came to know of it, they had been threatening Amit and asking him to leave her, Laxmi has alleged in her complaint.

“Nehal’s family members had come to our house on Sunday. They asked us to come out and started abusing my family.
“The conversation soon turned into a scuffle and they hit my husband as well as my younger son. They left after threatening that they would now eliminate Amit,” Laxmi has alleged in her petition.

As Amit had not returned home, his family soon started enquiring about him. Laxmi has said in her petition that they called Amit on his phone but there was no reply. When they began to look for him, they were told that he had been kidnapped by some unidentified people from Kadianaka, the complaint says.

“The people who saw the incident [Amit’s alleged abduction] told us that he was shouting in an auto. But they soon disappeared in the darkness,” the complaint petition says.

Laxmi has further alleged that later they came to know that Amit’s body had been found near the riverfront. “We suspect Amit was given some drug and beaten up. When he died, they threw his body in the river,” the complaint states.

Amit’s mother has prayed that a case be lodged against Nehal Darbar, her mother Nayna Darbar, Chirag Darbar, and Kanu Darbar.

The court, after hearing her complaint, ordered the police to investigate the case and file a report in thirty days. The case has been posted for next hearing to December 23, 2011.
