The cold wave in Himachal Pradesh intensified today after snowfall in the higher reaches and rain in the state capital and in the lower areas.
    
There were reports of snowfall from Lahaul-Spiti, Chamba and high peaks in Kullu since the morning.
    
A report from Keylong, district headquarters of Lahaul-Spiti, said about one-and-a-half inch of snow accumulated on roads there.
       
A report from Chamba said high altitude areas of Pangi-Bharmour witnessed snowfall since the morning while the tourist destination of Dalhousie saw snowflakes.
   
In the Queen of the Hills, the mercury plummeted after light rain in the morning with the day temperature being recorded at 11.7 degree celsius in comparison to 17.2 degrees yesterday.
   
In Sundernagar, the day temperature settled at 19.1 degrees, 13.8 degrees in Bhuntar and 14.8 degrees in Dharamsala, the Met department said.
    
It has forecast rain/thundershowers at isolated places in the lower/middle hills while the higher reaches could have rain/snow tomorrow.
