As president of JD(U)'s Bihar unit Rajiv Ranjan Singh Lalan threatened to resign from the post, party chief Sharad Yadav today downplayed the matter, saying it would be resolved through discussions.

"Mutual discussions will resolve the issue. It is not a big problem and such things keep happening in political parties," Yadav said here.

Refuting reports that the Munger MP had resigned as party's state unit chief, he said he will speak to Lalan soon.

Yadav said that while speaking to him a few days back, Lalan had expressed his desire to resign from the post.

Earlier, Lalan had accused Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar of behaving like a dictator and offered to resign from his post.

"Nitish Kumar is behaving like a dictator, he is ignoring and overlooking genuine party workers and treating the party as his pocket organisation," Singh had said.

"I have urged the party's national president Sharad Yadav to appoint a ceremonial state president by tomorrow to facilitate me to resign from the post on February one," he had said.
