Congress Saturday declined to comment on activist Anna Hazare's decision to go on maun vrat (vow of silence) from Sunday but asked if other members of his team also will follow suit.

“There is no need to comment. But people can ask if it (silence) will also apply to other members of Team Anna,” Congress spokesman Abhishek Manu Singhvi said.

He said there could be questions on the purpose of Hazare's decision to go into the silent mode and how long will it last.

An aide of Hazare told reporters in his Ralegan-Siddhi village in Maharashtra that the social activist will go on a "maun vrat" from Sunday for an indefinite period due to medical reasons. What those "medical reasons" are was not explained.
