It's like a ray of hope for the victims duped by 'godman' Ashok Jadeja. After two years, the investigating agency has suggested to the court to appoint an administrator for Jadeja's property and distribute the income drawn from the property among the victims. The prosecution will file an application in this regard.

The police have recently filed a report of investigation in one of the cases in the court whereby they also submitted the list of Jadeja's properties seized during the investigation. The officer further suggested to the court to appoint an administrator in the case to deal with his properties and land. Further, the income earned from these properties should be deposited with the government and subsequently distributed amongst the complainants.

Confirming the development, Sanjay Kikani, special public prosecutor in the case told DNA that Jadeja owns several farms and plots in Kadi district. The total area of these comes to 165 bigha. In such circumstances, the prosecution is preparing to now file a formal application seeking appointment of an administrator for the said properties.

Kikani further said that in this application they would seek specific direction with reference to the income earned from the properties. The prosecution seeks to direct the administrator to deposit the income with the government so that it can be distributed amongst the victims. The police have already filed their report and now they will seek the court's direction to go ahead with the move.

Jadeja was arrested in June 2009 by the state CID for duping thousands of people of the Chhara community. He allegedly had cheated them through a fraudulent money scheme.

He presented himself as a priest of the Mata Sikotar temple and claimed to have divine powers. He promised people to return thrice the amount of money they entrusted him with in three days.

Talk of his divine powers and money-multiplying scheme spread like wild fire in the Chhara community. Hundreds of people started to visit him to seek his blessings and deposit their money with him. Jadeja gradually built his network and appointed agents to lure the community members in Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Punjab and other parts of the country. He gave them one per cent commission.

Jadeja had through this scheme swindled as much as Rs 550 crores and had invested most of the amount in real estate.
