Senior Congress leader Digvijay Singh today accused the BJP of doing nothing to root corruption when it was in power and said the party was enacting a "drama" after some states ruled by it were ridden by scams.

"When the BJP was in power it did nothing to fight corruption but now when its state governments have been found involved in corruption it has started this drama of fighting corruption," Singh said at a public meeting here.

Lashing out at LK Advani, he said before starting his rath yatra against corruption the BJP leader should have looked at things within his party.

The Congress leader said his party has worked to ensure that Dalits get all facilities and pointed out "it was the Congress which had honoured Bhimrao Ambedkar by giving him the opportunity to frame Constitution."

Attacking Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati, he said she came to power seeking votes for "Dalit ki beti" and now she was "encouraging" the corrupt to amass wealth.
