Did the intruders climb the wall at Nima Bungalows to steal? Was loot the only motive that the gang of men had while entering and assaulting guards at Nirma promoter Karsanbhai Patel's bungalow on SG Highway? Police now suspect that the youths, who claimed were looking for one Ashok Savant, may have actually gone there with the motive of loot.
Police sources said the guards of a bungalow belonging to another businessman of the city claim to have seen the intruders on the day of the incident. "They told us that they saw the men from far and it looked like they were out for robbing. But seeing the enormous security at the businessman's bungalow they moved on," said a source in the police. Police have meanwhile released the sketches of the suspects.
It should be noted that on Januray 4, a gang of armed men had scaled a wall of the compound where Karsanbhai Patel's old bungalow is located and tied up the guards before escaping.
