Were the girls at Sanand booze party bar dancers or performers?

The exact purpose of the girls booked for obscenity by the Sanand police, after a general raid on Shyamvilla bungalow in Sanand, is yet to be investigated.

The police are trying to find out whether the girls were mere stage performers or bar dancers from Mumbai.

Six out of the seven girls arrested for obscenity are from Mumbai while one is from Surat. The police have not ruled out the possibility that the girls are bar dancers. "The investigation about their purpose on coming to Ahmedabad is being probed and it will conclude soon," district superintendent of police, Ahmedabad rural, Sandeep Singh told DNA.

Singh also said that the girls, in their statements said they were not aware that the event will be a booze party. Investigating officer, MM Zala, said that the girls told the police that they were called to the city by agents for a birthday party of some NRI.

Meanwhile, the police have also started the hunt for Raju Barot, the owner of the plot where the party was held. "He was  among the chief organisers of the party,” Zala said.
