'We support any proposal that strengthens J&K ties with Centre'

Maintaining that it is premature to comment on the report prepared by interlocutors for Kashmir, BJP today said the party supports any recommendation that seeks to strengthen the state's ties with the Centre.

"In principle, BJP supports any proposal or recommendation that seeks to strengthen relations between J&K and the Centre and, at the same time, we also want an end to regional discrimination within the state," BJP spokesman Jitendra Singh told reporters here. "As for Article 370, our position is known...we demand its abrogation and there is no compromise on that," he said.

About BJP's stand on the interlocutors' report on Kashmir, Singh said it was still "premature" to comment on it. "We will wait to read the whole text before taking a formal stand," he said.
