We don’t want cars on Relief Road: Ahmedabad cops

The traffic department, on Monday, suggested to the civic body that the entry of four-wheelers on Relief Road be banned, to control congestion from Vijli Ghar to Revdi Bazaar.

The next time you plan to go shopping on Relief Road, you might have to sweat it out by walking to your favourite shop. The traffic department, on Monday, suggested to the civic body that the entry of four-wheelers on Relief Road be banned, to control congestion from Vijli Ghar to Revdi Bazaar.

Deputy municipal commissioner for the central zone, IK Patel, said that the traffic department has requested the civic body to prepare sign boards proclaiming 'No Entry', meant to be put up on Relief Road. On Monday, the traffic department, with help from the AMC estate department, removed around 455 goods that were used to encroach upon the area. 2 laaris were also removed.

Traffic department officials say that the encroachment removal drive in the walled city will continue for the next three days.
