NDA convenor and JD(U) president Sharad Yadav today said the country was witnessing a "shadow" prime minister for the first time as there was no clarity on who is running the government.

"Aisa lagta hai hum chhaya se lad rahe hain, sarkar ka malik kaun hai, kaun ise chala raha hai - Sonia, Rahul yaa Manmohan? (We feel as if we are fighting with a shadow, it is not clear as to who is running the government - Sonia, Rahul or Manmohan)," he remarked.

Yadav was addressing the BJP's 'Mahasangram rally' here against corruption, prise rise and for JPC probe into the recent scams, including the 2G spectrum one.

Blaming Congress for price rise, Yadav said that there was always high inflation whenever the party is in power.

"The prices were under control when Morarji Desai, VP Singh and AB Vajpayee were prime ministers," he said.

Describing Delhi as "abhishap" (curse) for Haryana, he claimed that the entire state would be urbanised and no village would be left in the coming ten years.

Addressing the rally, leader of opposition in the Lok Sabha and senior BJP leader Sushma Swaraj said that the opposition would raise the corruption issue during the budget session of Parliament.

Asking Prime Minister Manmohan Singh not to protect corrupt people in the name of coalition compulsion, the senior BJP leader wondered how could he make "some compromises" to run a ruling coalition.

Referring to the tents tottering in the inclement weather, the BJP leader said "sarkar ka tambhu be isee tarah ukhad raha hein (the government is also shaking like this)".

While making a mention of finance minister Pranab Mukherjee's statement that opposition parties should "join the Maoists" if they have no faith in parliamentary democracy, Swaraj said the demand for a JPC probe was justified because these scams were of large scale.
