The police team found the body of Madhu Trivedi, 51, lying on the first floor but her 28-year-old daughter Nupur was still missing. After searching the house for sometime the team reached the bedroom on the ground floor. The room had been ransacked and on the couch was a heap of clothes.
The police photographer was documenting the crime scene from different angles and for this he climbed on the couch. His foot felt something under the heap of clothes. This is how the police found the body of Nupur with her neck slit and her stomach sliced open.
These gory details are of the incident that took place at a bungalow located in sector 6, plot number1106/1 on Wednesday. The bungalow belongs to Shivshankar Trivedi, a former irrigation officer of Sardar Sarovar Nigam Ltd. It was his wife and daughter who were found murdered on Thursday.
The police believe the murder took place sometime on Wednesday but nobody sensed it. As of now, it has been proved that the mother-daughter duo was alive at 10am on Wednesday.
That was the last time that Shivshankar Trivedi called them up from the US. Sources said Madhu and Nupur had told him that they were going for shopping in sector 21 so he should not call up in the evening. But the events that followed after the last phone call remain a mystery.
"At 3pm Trivedi had tried the phone numbers of Madhu and Nupur but both the phones were switched off. On Thursday morning he called up his friend Rajendra Kumar who works with Sardar Sarovar Nigam Ltd. Kumar went to the house at around 10.30am," sources said.
