Villagers identify bodies of students killed in Arunachal hostel fire

The bodies of students of Holy Angel Don Bosco School who were burnt to death yesterday were identified by their clothes and buried in the compound of the school.

At least 14 students both boys and girls were burnt to death and seven others injured after a fire swept through a hostel made of bamboo at Palin area in the Kurung Kumey district, bordering China.
    
Four of the seriously injured students were shifted to Itanagar hospitals.
    
Chief minister Dorjee Khandu will visit the place.
    
The middle school with over 500 students has a hostel made of bamboo with tin roofing and run by the sisters school principal Father Jose said, adding the hostel with tiered beds had accommodations for 100 students, but 62 students were in the hostel when the fire broke out.
    
The fire was doused in two hours with the help of CRPF personnel, police said.
    
According to an eyewitness, the 62 inmates who were fast asleep in the hostel were mostly in the age group of seven.
