Village sarpanch killed, four others injured in road mishap in MP

A village sarpanch was killed and four others including three corporators were injured when the car in which they were travelling collided with a tanker carrying petrol near Harsud town in the district, police said today.
 
The Siloda village Sarpanch Gendalal died on the spot while corporators of Khandwa Nagar Nigam Ramesh Gurjar, Sunil Lalwani and Dr Devesh Soni were injured in the mishap, police said.
 
Besides them, the driver of the car identified as Arun Lakshaman Rao also got injured in the accident, police said.
 
Had the tanker caught fire, it could have been a major accident, police said, adding the tanker driver has been arrested and the container was also seized.
