Vice-President, Manmohan Singh attend prayer meeting at Gandhi Smriti

Vice-President Hamid Ansari and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today attended an all-religion prayer meeting at the Gandhi Smriti on the occasion of Mahatma Gandhi's 142nd birth anniversary.

Besides Ansari and Singh, Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit and Prime Minister's wife Gursharan Kaur were among those present at the occasion.

There were recitings from Buddhist texts in Japanese and Tibetan, readings from Bhagavat Gita, Bible, Quran and Guru Granth Sahib and prayers by Parsis and Jews.

Classical vocalist Kumud Diwan presented bhakti sangeet at the function.
