Refusing to pay for the state health department's information in response to an RTI filed by Rita Bahuguna Joshi on behalf of Rahul Gandhi on April 27, the Congress today alleged the state government did not want to give the required information.

"We have been asked to pay Rs2 per page for the information regarding National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) but we decided not to pay and sought information on digital format. As we have not got the information yet, we will be filing the appeal soon," Uttar Pradesh Congress president Rita Bahuguna Joshi told reporters here.

"The state government did not want to provide the information as it feared getting exposed," Joshi said adding that the state got Rs6,246 crore under NRHM in past three years from the Centre.

She said due to corruption in implementation of NRHM two chief medical officers (CMO) were murdered in Lucknow.

About the ongoing farmers' agitation in Chandauli, Joshi said her party would ensure Bhatta-Parsaul was not repeated anywhere in the state.
