A man attempted suicide in Amraiwadi because the prospect of celebrating Diwali without his wife was too much for him. His wife had left for her parent's house to celebrate Diwali and the man, unable to bear the thought of celebrating the festival alone, consumed several sleeping pills to kill himself.

The Amraiwadi police have lodged a case of attempted suicide. According to case details, Surendra Singh Bhadoriya, 22, a resident of Payal Park society, Haripura in Amraiwadi was admitted to the LG Hospital after he failed to get up in the morning on October 31.

According to police, the hospital authorities informed them about the incident. When police began investigation, they found that Bhadoriya was upset as his wife had gone to her father's place for Diwali. Source said the newly-wed couple also had an argument over the same after which the husband let his wife visit her parent's house for Diwali.

"Bhadoriya went into depression after his wife chose to celebrate Diwali with her parents. On the night she left, he bought some sleeping pills and consumed it," said Chandrasinh Nanabhai, the head constable probing the case. He said when Bhadoriya failed to wake up, his relatives rushed him to the hospital.
Sources said that Bhadoriya is out of danger.
