Opposition PDP today termed the two years of Omar Abdullah's chief ministership as the worst phase in the history of Jammu and Kashmir, saying the ruling National Conference's 'inability' to meet people's aspirations had led to a growing sense of alienation among them.

Addressing a convention of party workers, senior PDP leaders lamented that the present dispensation headed by Omar Abdullah has been repeating the same blunders committed by NC leadership during its previous tenure from 1996 to 2002.

"The state has again slipped into the dark period -which people of this region had faced from the year 1996 to 2002 due to misgovernance and malpractices of the present government", PDP vice-president Trilok Singh Bajwa said.

"With his assiduous efforts Mufti Mohammad Sayeed during his tenure as chief minister had not only restored peace in this State but also carved out a path of equitable development to address aspirations of all regions and sub-regions in the state", he said

There has been total chaos and confusion in the state during the last two years, party General Secretary Balbir Singh said.

"Inability of the NC government to respond to the problems could have a negative fall out on the situation in the sensitive state", he said, adding "in its tenure of two years this regime has been exposed because it has not fulfilled the promises made to the people," Singh said.
