Two persons get life term in murder case in Uttar Pradesh

A local court here today sentenced two persons to life imprisonment after holding them guilty in a murder case.

The judge also imposed a penalty of Rs25,000 on each of them.

According to prosecution sources, Kanahi Lal was shot dead on December 3, 2008, over a land dispute, while he was returning home with his wife Rajanshri.

Rajanshri lodged a FIR at Kuraoli police station against Sukhram and his nephew Damodar, they said.

District and Sessions Judge Vijay Laxmi held Sukhram and Damodar guilty of murdering Kanahi Lal and sentenced them to life imprisonment.

The court also stated that in case of default of payment of fine, the accused will have to further undergo imprisonment for a year.
