Two killed in road accident in Uttar Pradesh

The accident occurred near Rudrapur village in Devgaon police station area when the jeep dashed into the bus while trying to overtake it, Lalganj circle officer Rajesh Srivastava said.

Two persons were today killed and 16 others injured when a jeep collided with a bus on Varanasi-Azamgarh road here, police said.

The accident occurred near Rudrapur village in Devgaon police station area when the jeep dashed into the bus while trying to overtake it, Lalganj circle officer Rajesh Srivastava said.

Those killed in the accident include the jeep driver and a bus passenger, the CO said, adding that seven of the seriously injured have been referred to a Varanasi hospital, while others were admitted to Primary Health Centre, Lalganj.

The jeep passengers were on their way to a temple in Varanasi, he added.
