Two killed, five injured in road mishap in Jammu

The incident occured when a speeding matador on way from Chadwal to Samba rolled down into the gorge at Chanmarian in Hiranagar area of Kathua district around 11am.

Two persons were today killed and five injured, four of them seriously, when a matador in which they were travelling skidded off the road and rolled down into a gorge in Kathua district in Jammu division, police said.
 
The speeding matador on way from Chadwal to Samba rolled down into the gorge at Chanmarian, about 60km from here, in Hiranagar area of the district around 11am, they said.
 
Two persons, identified as Sharda Devi and Bhushan Sharma (driver) died on the spot and five others were injured, they said.
 
Rescue teams rushed to the spot and extricated the victims, they said, adding four seriously injured were brought here and admitted in government medical college (GMC) hospital for treatment, while another was rushed to sub-district hospital at Hiranagar.

The authorities, after conducting post-mortem, handed over the bodies to their families, they said.
