Two imprisoned for attack on policemen in Meerut

Two persons were sentenced to five years of imprisonment for attacking police personnel by a local court here.

Additional District Judge of Fast Track Court PK Jain yesterday held Tyyab and Saeed guilty and sentenced them to five years of imprisonment and also imposed a fine of Rs 3,000 each.

On a tip off, some unidentified persons were committing loots at Ved Vyas area, a police party led by Special Operation Group reached the spot and fired at them.

The accused also retaliated at the policemen but were later arrested, the prosecution said.
