Two held with Rs15 lakh worth opium in Indore

The arrested smugglers were identified as Mayur Sheikh and Rajesh Kumar Jaat, police said adding they were arrested from Sirpur Pond area of the city following a tip-off, police said.

Police today arrested two drug smugglers by recovering three kg opium worth Rs15 lakh in the international market.

The arrested smugglers were identified as Mayur Sheikh and Rajesh Kumar Jaat, police said adding they were arrested from Sirpur Pond area of the city following a tip-off, police said.

Sheikh belongs to Mandsaur district of the state where opium is said to be cultivated illegally. He arrived in the city to handover the contraband to Jaat.

A case has been registered against them under NDPS Act and further investigations are on.
