The CBI court of judge VB Barot awarded two-year imprisonment and a fine of Rs1,000 each to two persons convicted in stamp forgery scam.

The guilty, Mohammed Mia alias Kalu Mia Shaikh and Davesh Vyas, were charged under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). According to case details, Kalu Mia cheated many people in connivance with Vyas by pasting fake stamp papers on the sale deed papers.

The lawyer for the prosecution, AA Shaikh said, “Chief inspector of stamp, JM Pandit , in a raid at the shops of various stamp vendors in the city seized many forged stamp papers from Kalu Mia and Vyas.”
