Continuing to mount pressure on the Congress MLAs and MPs from Telangana region to quit their posts in support of the separate statehood agitation, Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) president K Chandrasekhar Rao today said that Telangana would definitely be realised if they quit their posts.

"I say that you have to decide whether you want to create history by resigning or lost in history by hanging on to your posts. This is an opportunity for you to find a permanent place in history. Such opportunities would not come often," he said, addressing a public meeting at Devarakadra near Mahabubnagar.

"You quit your posts. Let me see why Telangana would not come. You should quit your posts and get Telangana by making the Centre bend," he said.

The TRS president has been piling up pressure on the Telangana Congress MPs and MLAs by saying that they should quit their posts to make the Centre accept the separate Telangana demand.

The Centre should implement the announcement it made in December 2009 to form separate Telangana, he said.

"It was reported in the media even in US and Britain that a new state is born in India. The whole world witnessed when the Centre declared that separate Telangana would be formed. The Central government should keep its promise," Rao said.

Further delay in the formation of separate Telangana would only anger the people of the region and those opposing the demand would be burnt in it, he added.
