Trinamul Congress leader shot dead in West Bengal

A local Trinamul Congress leader was shot dead this evening by unknown gunmen at Nituria in Purulia district.

The police said Sashi Bhusan Prasad Yadav died on the spot at Parbelia when four persons borne in two motorcycle shot him from close range in a tea stall.

Yadav was an elected member of Nituria Panchayat Samity.

Trinamul Congress wrested power from CPI(M) under his leadership in the panchayat samity last year, sources said.
