Come April and a large number of IPS officers in the state, including several senior cops, may be transferred by the home department. What's more, even the commissioner of police (CP) of Ahmedabad city as well as the director general in-charge of police (DGP in-charge) of the state may be transferred. The majority of transfers will reportedly be from among the district superintendents of police.

Home department sources hinted that DGP in-charge Chitranjan Singh may be shifted to some other department. The CP, Amitabh Pathak, too is likely to be transferred following a conflict among some officials of the home department in the first week of April.
Besides, some deputy commissioners of police (DCPs) -including SM Katara, DCP, Zone 2, MS Bharada, DCP, Zone 3 and Sachin Badshah, DCP Zone 6 -may be transferred from the city and officials from other districts may replace them, said sources.

Sources  said the inspector general of police, Ahmedabad rural, Ashish Bhatia may be again posted in Ahmedabad city. The transfers may take place in the next few days and many IPS officers from the districts may also be transferred.
