Three members of a family died after allegedly inhaling poisonous gas from a well at Lohadwar village.

Three members of a family died after allegedly inhaling poisonous gas from a well at Lohadwar village here, police said today.

The incident took place last evening when Vishnu went inside the well to install a water pump and did not return for long, police said.

His father Sankarshan Singh got suspicious and entered the well to help out his son, following which Vishnu's elder brother Janardhan Singh volunteered to rescue the duo, they said.

The trio died after inhaling the poisonous gas emanating out the well which had very little water in it, police said.

Police fished out their bodies with the help of locals and post-mortems were conducted.

Police said it is further probing the incident.
