Three cases with symptoms of swine flu have been admitted to Sir Sayajirao General (SSG) hospital in Vadodara in the last 24 hours.

All of them are being treated at a specially designed nursing home for the treatment of the suspected swine flu patients at the hospital.

The three patients are children between the age group of seven and eleven years. As soon as they were admitted, the hospital staff was instructed to take all the required precautions.

The nursing staff was seen wearing the mask before entering the nursing home premises. Not only that, special security arrangements have been put in place outside the special ward, so that no unauthorised person enters inside.

Medical superintendent Dr AK Saxena told DNA: "A seven-year-old girl, who is a local resident, was admitted to SSG hospital on Wednesday evening. She was referred here by a private hospital, where she was treated for pneumonia earlier.

On Thursday, a brother and sister duo who came to the city from Virginia, US, on July 30 to their relative's place, were admitted. They were suffering from fever and after being treated by a physician, they were referred to the hospital. We have taken the blood and saliva samples and sent  them to the laboratory."

Meanwhile, a 13-year-old boy will soon be discharged after his swine flu report was found negative on Thursday evening.

Giving details about the boy, Saxena said: "The boy who had come from San Francisco will soon be discharged as his report has confirmed it to be swine flu negative." Talking to DNA, father of the patient, Sombhai Patel said: "The report has given a sigh of relief, but the services rendered by the hospital were not satisfactory."
