ShareHarda (MP): Three youths including District Panchayat vice-chairman and senior BJP leader Ummed Singh's son Sanjay Singh were arrested for illegally possessing a mouser pistol and roaming with it near a private school here today.
Acting on a tip-off, the Harda police arrested Sanjay (22), Satyanarayan alias Sattu and Jitendra Dubey with Mauser pistol near Sunflower School in the city, police station in-charge, Mahendra Singh Meena told PTI here.
Police also recovered some live cartridges of the pistol, he said.
Meena said that Sanjay had to take money from his friend which he owed him after loosing it in a satta (gambling) on the second test match between India-Sri Lanka in Kanpur and therefore, Sanjay was looking for him.
A case has been registered against the trio under Arms Act, he said adding that further investigation into the matter was on.
