Three CRPF personnel were today injured in a landmine blast in Chhattisgarh's Bijapur district, officials said, a day after the paramilitary force lost 26 of its men in a Maoist ambush in the state.

The incident took place in Cherpal village during an operation to remove a mine planted in a road by Naxals, district superintendent of police Avinash Mohanty said by phone.

All three are out of danger and efforts are being made to evacuate them from the site, he said.

Acting on a tip-off, the security personnel had started a demining operation on the Bijapur-Gangalur Road when the mine went off, Mohanty said.

Striking in a big way, the Naxals had yesterday killed 26 CRPF personnel in a deadly attack in Narayanpur district.
