Seeking to instill confidence in corporate entities over the separate Telangana agitation that has often turned violent, Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) chief K Chandrasekhar Rao today said his party would promote industrial development if the region attained statehood.

"The state of Telangana will lay out a red carpet for creative business enterprises and we earnestly appeal to you all to join hands and make Telangana as a gateway for glorious business and entrepreneurship," he said.

Rao was addressing a closed-door India CEO Forum meeting organised by Gurgaon-based International Market Assessment India Pvt Ltd in Hyderabad.

Alleging Telangana has not been able to achieve the development it deserved due to faulty policies of successive governments in Andhra Pradesh, he said a separate Telangana would make rapid strides on the path of progress.

"We have a strong vision and absolute confidence that Telangana, with its decentralised administrative set up and committed political will, aided with vast wealth of natural resources and human resources will emerge as an economic hub."

With the apprehensions of corporate bodies over the future of Hyderabad apparently weighing in his mind, Rao assured that the city would continue to grow on the strength of the progress achieved so far.

"Hyderabad as the capital of Telangana will continue to progress further," the TRS president said.
