Teesta Setalvad, secretary of Citizens for Justice and Peace (CJP) has filed an application before the Nanavati and Mehta commission seeking permission for cross examination of her former employee Rais Khan.

The hearing of the application is posted for Friday before the Nanavati commission which is probing 2002 Godhra riots.

Khan, who was co-ordinator of CJP, was sacked in 2008 on grounds of misappropriation and unethical practice.

He recently moved an application before the court looking into the Naroda Patiya and Gulberg massacre pleading that his testimony be taken.

He has alleged that Teesta filed fabricated affidavits in the names of riot victims before the court.  In the application Teesta claimed that Khan is acting on behalf of the powerful functionaries of the state government.
