A team of 11 doctors, led by eminent cardiac surgeon Ramakanta Panda, is treating Assam's chief minister Tarun Gogoi.

Assam chief minister Tarun Gogoi, recuperating in a Mumbai hospital after a major heart surgery, is responding well to the treatment and back on a normal diet.
An official release from Guwahati quoting doctors attending on him at Asian Heart Institute said that 74-year-old Gogoi was stable and communicating well.
"The chief minister is responding to the doctors and is on a normal diet. His vital organs are responding normally," the release said.
"The chief minister is also able to sit and walk," the release said.
Gogoi underwent a bypass, aortic valve replacement and enlargement of the aorta procedure on August 4.
