Ambaben Desai, a 30-year-old woman, died of swine flu (H1N1) on Saturday. Her death has taken the swine flue toll in the state to 11. Ambaben resided at the Purushotamnagar Rabarivas in Ghatlodia.

Principal secretary, health and family welfare, Ravi Saxena said, "Ambaben Desai had been suffering from bilateral consolidation and effusion and died on Saturday afternoon. We have taken steps for the protection of those who came in close contact with her."
The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation's health department has traced the deceased's close contacts and started giving tamiflu medicine to stop the spread of the infection.
"We have traced six people in her family who were close to her and are giving them tamiflu," said SP Kulkarni, medical health officer of AMC.

Kulkarni said the deceased had been suffering from health problems and was being treated by a local doctor. Later, as her health deteriorated, she was admitted at a private hospital for a day. "The doctor suspected that she had H1N1 infection and sent her to Civil hospital where tests proved she was H1N1 positive," he said.

On Saturday, two more H1N1 positive cases - a 34-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman - were reported in the city. This has taken the number of total H1N1 positive cases to 127. Of them, 15 have been under treatment.
