A Swedish national was arrested at Kovalam near here for violating visa rules, police said.
   
Witold, who reached Kovalam on January 7, had not submitted the "C Form" to the police station, which he should have done within 24 hours of arrival. His tourist visa is due to expire on April 4, police said.
   
A frequent visitor to Kovalam, Witold owned a villa near the seaside light house, in which he accommodated Swedish and German tourists violating visa rules. He had bought the villa in 1997.
   
Witold was arrested yesterday and remanded to judicial custody, police said.
