Swarnim Gujarat celebration in Toronto

The Gujarati Business Association in Canada will celebrate 50 years of foundation of Gujarat in Toronto. The celebration will see participation from renowned Gujarati filmstars and artists.

The two-day celebration will take place at Toronto Congress Centre on May 8 and 9. The Canadian Gujarati community will resolve to give a boost to tourism in Gujarat. "The Canadian Gujaratis will motivate non-Gujaratis to visit Gujarat for medical tourism, business tourism or to spend holidays," said Mukund Purohit, president of Gujarati Business Association. 

The association will also launch a Gujarat Tourism wing to provide information to people who want to visit the state. He said that renowned personalities like Paresh Rawal, Asha Parekh, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Shyamal-Saumil Munshi, Manahar Udhas and Irfan Pathan among others will attend the event.

"We are also planning to bring in investments from Canada to Gujarat for various sectors like IT, energy and water purification among others," said Purohit. The association will also give away three awards - Gujarati Vishwa Pratibha Award, Gujarat Gaurav Award and Proud Canadian Gujarati Award.
