Sushma Swaraj pays homage to victims of train blasts, lambasts govt

Paying homage to the victims of July 2006 Mumbai serial train blasts here, leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Sushma Swaraj said that government was "inert" in its response in the aftermath of terror attack. 

Swaraj was speaking at a function organised by local BJP unit to mark the Fourth anniversary of deadly blasts which killed 187 people.

"After every such incident, three promises are made: culprits won't be spared, strongest action will be taken, and victims will be rehabilitated and compensated, but none of these promises were fulfilled here," she said.

"Fifteen conspirators behind the blasts are still absconding. Red corner notices have been issued in the case of only four of them...the trial has started only now," Swaraj pointed out.

Rajesh Jha, a youngster whose ears were permanently damaged, had said earlier in the function that he was refused
financial aid -- after discharge from hospital -- on the ground that his injury did not fall in the 'scheduled list' of injuries.

Referring to this, Swaraj said, "now we should tell terrorists next time that please cause us "scheduled injuries".

"This government is completely inert, it lacks sensitivity," she said.
