The chairman of Sumul Dairy farm Manubhai Patel passed away due to cardiac arrest, family sources said today.

Patel, 61, died last night and is survived by wife, two daughters and a son, they said.

Patel had joined Sumul Dairy in the year 1987 as a director and later on became the vice-president in the year 1993.

During his tenure, Sumul Dairy received five awards for national production, 11 for total quality management, six for energy efficiency and other 14 awards.

Patel was also honoured by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, former President Dr APJ Abdul Kalam as well as Baba Ramdev, family sources added.
