Gujarat Cricket Association secretary Sudhir Nanavati reportedly tendered his resignation from the association on family grounds on Friday. He has also decided to step down from the finance committee of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

“This was long due and he was not able to justify his commitments. He was asked to wait till after the Central Board of Cricket, Ahmedabad (CBCA) elections. So he decided to bid adieu today [on Friday],” a GCA source confirmed. Nanavati, who was a co-opted member, arrived at the GCA office at around 3 pm and left after handing over the ‘envelope’ to GCA staff members.

When DNA tried to reach Nanavati for confirmation, he did not pick up the call. Moreover, GCA president Narhari Amin and joint secretary Hitesh Patel were also unreachable for the comment.
