Students protest Maoist action of damaging schools in Jharkhand

The students have appealed to the ultra outfits to shun targetting educational sector as it would only deprive them of their fundamental rights.

Students of Latehar district of Jharkhand today took to the streets in protest against the ultra outfits targetting school buildings in the state frequently.
    
Placards in hands, hundreds of students shouting slogans staged a dharna simultaneously in front of all the seven block headquarters of the district in protest against blowing up of at least 12 school buildings by the Maoists in recent past.
    
The students have appealed to the ultra outfits to shun targetting educational sector as it would only deprive them of their fundamental rights.
    
The students, who staged dharna for over two hours, were pursued by the senior police officials including Avinash Kumar Sinha in Barwadih block to withdraw the agitation.
    
The district administration has assured to look into the demands and initiate action.
    
The students action followed a day after Maoists blew up a newly constructed school building at Banbirua in Latehar.
