This Diwali will be different for several thousands of citizens of Gujarat as Sri Sri Ravishankar will be visiting the state to celebrate Deepotsav from October 25 to 31. Art of Living, Vadodara, is hosting the Deepotsav 2011 celebrations - an advance meditation course where Sri Sri Ravishankar will be present.

Various activities have been planned for the event, like a series of spiritual and social programmes. Sri Sri Ravishankar will perform a Lakshmi Homa in Surat at 6 pm on October 26 and a pranayam dhyan shibir will also be organized in the same city early morning on October 27.

A Rudra pooja and laha satsang will be held in Valsad on October 27.

Addressing the media on Wednesday, Rishi Nityapragya, one of four Art of Living Rishis in the world, said, "I believe that Gujarat has always been a favourite place for conducting various events for Guruji (Sri Sri Ravishankar). Hence, this is the second consecutive year that he has agreed to visit the state."

Sharing more figures, Rishi Nityapragya said that last year around 3200 people attended the advanced course in Vadodara during Guruji's visit. "This year, we are expecting around 5000 people to come to the programme," added Rishi Nityapragya.

There will be a special Diwali camp for children and teens where a youth empowerment seminar and an all-round training in excellence course for different age groups will be held.
