Special menu with screening of World Cup final at Ahmedabad food joints

The food joints in the city were crowded as the excitement of the final match was peaking. There were match screening arrangements at eateries where people went to gulp down something while watching the nail-biting match.

At late night cafes and restaurants people watched the match keenly. Some eateries had made special arrangements for 'World Cup food' and also big screens.

Atul Budhraja of Ramada said: "We have five halls in the hotel that were packed. Special food was also provided to guests that had a tinge of our tricolour. We served tricolour wontons along with tricolour pastas and also a cake in the shape of a pitch to spike the excitement that was already there."

Fortune Landmark Hotel had a huge menu dedicated to the Indian cricketers-Gambhir Express Pizza, Sreesanth Twist Chicken and Yusuf Pathan Chicken made their way to the menu, as did Dhoni Mahi Grilled Fish along with Sehwag Grilled Cottage Cheese. Master Blaster Century Kar Mixed Veg was dedicated to Tendulkar, the hotel said.

Café Piano in the city also had a late night buffet along with screening of the final.

Even though nothing special was arranged for the big match, the excitement was visible with the people coming dressed in blue T-shirts and painted faces, said an official of the hotel.

Pride Hotel also had a dedicated World Cup menu that had much to offer to the team supporters. A special menu for Sri Lanka along with one dedicated to India, was organised.
