Terming the BSP rule in Uttar Pradesh as the second phase of emergency, Samajwadi Party Saturday demanded imposition of President's rule in the state.

"After emergency, BSP rule in Uttar Pradesh is like the second phase of dictatorship... there are numerous scams and the government is not serious on probing them," SP spokesman Rajendra Chaudhary said in Lucknow.

For an impartial probe into the scams and to rid the people of the state from this cruel government, President's rule should be imposed in UP, Chaudhary said.

Claiming that the personal assets of the Chief Minister were worth Rs three lakh crore, Chaudhary said that she is under the impression that she would win the coming Assembly elections.

Blaming both the Centre and state governments for inflation, Chaudhary said that a state-wide protest at all the district headquarters would be staged on the issue on November 9.
